»1000« (sprich: tausend) ist eine deutsch/ niederländisch/ belgisch/ amerikanische  Band – eine “working band” die seit ihrer Gründung 2004 eine beachtliche Liste von Konzerten, Festivalauftritten, CD Veröffentlichungen und Besprechungen vorzuweisen hat. Die Gruppe trägt diesen Namen, weil “1000″ eine grosse Zahl ist.

Das Quartett, bestehend aus dem “Rythmus -Dream-Team” de Joode/ Vatcher und den (musikalischen) “Zwillingen” Maris/ Klare, ist in der improvisierten Musik beheimatet, beschäftigt sich aber eingehend mit Kompositionen. Eine telepathisch unterlegte, eigene Klangsprache und Kommunikationsstrategie hat sich im Laufe vieler Konzerte kristallisiert. Das Repertoire ist komplex, doch niemals statisch –  die Musik bleibt immer handfest.

»1000«, consisting of the “rhythm-dream-team”: de Joode/ Vatcher and the (musical) “twins” Maris/ Klare, is at home in the world of improvised music,  but still deals intensively with  compositions. Their musical language and strategy of communication is almost telepathically  and has crystallised in the course of many concerts. The repertoire is complex, but never static – the music stays solid at any moment.
